Creativity & Power of Nature
Since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by the beauty of crystals and rocks. In fact, my fascination with them dates back to my grade 5 science fair project, where I made it my mission to figure out how such beautiful gemstones and crystals could form naturally in the earth. Picture Sears catalogue cut-outs of ruby and emerald rings combined with the science of gemstone formation in the earth’s crust posted on a three-fold science fair project board, that was where it all began for me.

Combining my fascination with gemstones, my appreciation for vintage jewelry –an admiration passed down from my Mum and older sister– and my love of handcrafted home decor I established Kailu Designs. Each piece is crafted with creative inspiration from nature and infused with love. I have always been more of an academic than an artist until recent years when I rediscovered my absolute love of all things creative and artistic, now here we are!

The name Kailu holds a special place in my heart, inspired by two of our beloveds. Kaia, our cherished dog who passed away in early 2024, and Luna, our fur-niece. It was during a playful photoshoot, dressing up Kaia and Luna in vintage necklaces, that the idea for Kailu was born.
